Buses to ITPL and Silkboard from Byappanahalli Metro Station

Dear Friends,

BMRCL started its operation from MG Road to Byappanahalli 3 years back in October 2011. This stretch has been less useful since it only connects 6.5 kms and does not reach the core IT area mainly Whitefield and the Outer Ring Road. Ridership has been only around 20,000 per day.

Lot of people would like to use Metro, but due to lack of connectivity from Byappanahalli towards Whitefield and Outer Ring Road like Bellandur companies has resulted in less ridership. We have recently seen lots of congestion in Whitefield area due to huge number of passenger cars. Shifting them to public transport can reduce congestion, pollution and save time of everyone commuting.

This is resulting in huge losses to BMRCL. In a timespan of 1 year, entire East-West corridor will be open. To make the best results out of it, we need connectivity to these areas. Airconditioned buses are preferred by IT employees. If we have both AC and Non AC  buses  operated from Byappanahalli Metro station, it would benefit lot of people and also increase ridership of Metro reducing the losses. Volvo buses to these areas would be ideal generating more revenue for both the departments.

This is a request to Transport Minister, Govt. of Karnataka, who is incharge of both BMRCL and BMTC to take it further.
