Our civics class has been working on the topic of Homelessness in Salem, MA for our civics in action project. This is an important issue for students because many students were once affected by this or still are affected by homelessness. This issue is caused by a variety of things such as lack of affordable housing, poverty, unemployment, sudden job loss or income loss, etc. In order to solve this problem, we should build more affordable houses and stabilize rent so families have a better chance of getting a home. If we were successful in solving this problem it would benefit all the families in Salem by saving them money and getting a roof over their heads. Please sign our petition to show your support.
