I am one of many who have been affected by the recent housing and homeless crisis. We have been looking for a rental for 12 mths now since having to leave the last one due to it being sold. Myself, partner and 6 children have been living in a garage at my sister's house. 

A lot of other people are not this lucky, living in cars, tents or the streets because there are no private rentals or public housing available. Something needs to be done, whether more houses are built or current houses for sale are bought by the government, turned into public housing or subsidised housing. Getting more into homes, and freeing up more of the private rental market. People need homes! The government needs to find a solution and fast. This has gone on long enough and should never have gotten this bad. With covid, floods and people relocating, the housing and homeless crisis is out of control. Caravan parks are full, emergency crisis centres are at capacity and have little or no funding to continue helping.

Together our collective voice may be heard. It's Winter and everyone deserves a nice warm home!
