According to statistics, approximately 50,000 deaf people in the UK use British Sign Language (BSL) as their primary language. In the UK, a compulsory part of the curriculum is to study a secondary language which can include French, German or Spanish (to name a few). One option however that is not available to students is to learn British Sign Language.
