Why this petition matters

Started by John Sutherns

The UK police force is made up of some of our bravest citizens with the majority going above and beyond to keep us safe.

Unfortunately the MET Police are facing allegations of misogyny against female victims of crime, incidents of sick photos being taken of female murder victims, leaks of whatssap groups where, rape, violence and abuse is joked about. This culture needs investigating and routing out. We need to know if this culture is the dominant force within not only the MET but UK police. Is there a reason more police officers are not calling out this behaviour or are their calls being unheard?

Please sign and share this petition ordering the home Secretary to order a Statutory investigation I'm the misogynistic culture within the MET Police and against any other UK police force where similar allegations have been made.

Unless an investigation is ordered to be statutory, cooperation by those being investigated is not mandatory. Sect 1.1 of the enquiries act 2005 states

A Minister may cause an inquiry to be held under this Act in relation to a case where it appears to him that—

(a)particular events have caused, or are capable of causing, public concern, or

(b)there is public concern that particular events may have occurred.

There have been countless allegations of misconduct within the metropolitan police. This has resulted in inappropriate behavior carried by MET Police murder scene officers, police whatssap groups using misogynistic language, making fun of rape. These allegations have caused a loss of confidence in the police especially amongst women.

We have the right to know the truth and see a true picture of the state of the culture amongst the UK police force.
