Unlawful Activities Protection Act. The purpose of this act is to prevent any activity which is harmful for the country and its people. 
However, this act has become a puppet in the hands of present government as they use it for their own benefit. They are literally slapping UAPA on any random person who doesn’t even have any criminal record. 
There has been over 70% increase in the number of person arrested under anti-terror law UAPA in 2019 compared to 2015 (as per the data provided by Ministry of home affairs in Lok Sabha).

In current Tripura violence, even the lawyers, reporters and many more innocents have been booked under UAPA. Be it a protest against CAA NRC or farms law, everyone has gone through this act. 

If the scenario doesn’t changes any time soon, then the time is not so far when there will be no difference between a common citizen and a terrorist!  
It’s a matter of concern. The act is losing its relevance. The act is indeed a puppet, used by the party in power for their own political benefits.

I strongly raise my concern over the matter and appeal to the general public to think about this and raise their voice.

The people in power shall be compelled to formulate a proper and strict mechanism which clearly mentions the people and activities that come under the ambit of this act. There should be no confusion related to this act and everything should be clear ( who can use this act, which person can be targeted by this act, what activities comes under the ambit of this act).

I hope that this matters reaches to the general public and the needful is done regarding this matter.
