I strongly advise anyone else who has an idea for the college; to set up a meeting and speak with the principal before making decisions about petitions and changes as he is in the best position to advocate change. Some of the things I wrote in the petition may be perceived as unappreciative of the college, I want to retract those comments by saying that Holy Cross College's attitude towards Muslims by the staff has been nothing short of exemplary and we appreciate everything they have done for us thus far. The RE Department in particular has been particularly helpful in offering classrooms for prayer. Holy Cross college has a list of priorities it is currently working on, including further new labs, classrooms and study facilities – including perhaps an extension to the library. All this depends on extra Government funding (because cuts in finance have left little for building) and perhaps extra land (as the college site is so built up already). An additional prayer space has been something the college has wanted to provide for several years, but it does fall behind the other pressing educational requirements listed above, and is equally affected by the need for extra funding and space.
