Cheech & Chong are a comedy duo consisting of Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong. The duo found commercial and cultural success in the 1970s and 1980s with their stand-up routines, studio recordings, and feature films, which were based on the hippie and free love era, and especially drug and counterculture movements, most notably their love for cannabis.

Not only did Cheech and Chong create an entire genre of comedy for the culture of cannabis, they also broke down barriers and stigmas about those who use cannabis. Previously thought to be a powerful aggression inducing psychotic from the propaganda of Reefer Madness, Cheech and Chong proved to America that cannabis simply has a harmless, and hilarious, calming effect. These pioneers paved the way for proceeding generations to openly talk and joke about cannabis from the fringe to on middle-America's main stage.

Despite unparalleled success and international recognition, to this day Cheech and Chong still do not have a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
