Wahiawa Pedestrian Bridge

The Wahiawa Community & Business Association supports the Wahiawa pedestrian bridge project for the following reasons:

1. Currently, it is unsafe for residents to walk or bike along Kamehameha Highway to travel between Whitmore and Wahiawa town. we prefer her not to wait for tragedy to strike before making the right decision.

2. The connecting of these physically-disparate communities with a pedestrian bridge would not only provide access between towns, but also opportunities for communities to join forces and come together as a whole.

3. The overall business climate in Wahiawa has been on a downward trend for many years. Connecting these two communities would help us be more self-sufficient by allowing community members to visit and support small businesses on both sides of the bridge.

4. There are homeless camps located between Whitmore and Wahiawa that have been allowed to take root. Drugs and criminal activity have been allowed to exist in this area for far too long. The construction of this bridge would expose these issues and force the city, state and ADC to deal with the cleanup head-on.

Please join the WCBA by supporting the building of the Wahiawa pedestrian bridge. This project has been in the works for many years now, and now that the money has been allocated and approved for the project, we must take advantage of this unique opportunity to work together and make our Wahiawa a better place to work, live, and play. We LOVE this community and feel that it deserves the very best. Mahalo!
