Increase the minimum wage for 18 to 24 year olds in line with the national minimum wage.

My daughter has a tremendous work ethic and wants to support herself. She is 18 years old and is also studying to improve her prospects. However she is paid substantially less than her colleagues simply by virtue of her date of birth. This is despite the fact that she completes the same work to the same standard and has the same bills to pay. Rent and bills aren't cheaper when you are 18 so why should you be paid less? Legislation has supposedly changed to reflect equality in the workplace but it seems that this does not extend to someone because of their young age. Not raising the minimum wage will have the almost inevitable result of pushing children to claiming benefits; therefore increasing the burden on the welfare system.
