Holland Park School MUST Let Grenfell Children Use Their Facilities Outside Term-Time

As a resident in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, I strongly believe that this needs to be made public. Holland Park School has refused to let deprived and disadvantaged children from Grenfell Fire enjoy their premises during the summer holidays. THIS IS SO WRONG!!! THE SCHOOL WAS CLOSED FOR THE ENTIRE SUMMER WHEN CHILDREN WERE DESPERATE FOR SOMEWHERE TO PLAY !!! The children involved are living in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea, and many of these children were affected and seriously traumatised by the Grenfell Fire Tragedy.

Their facilities were completely closed during the 6 weeks of summer holidays in 2017 and the space could have very easily been offered to help and support the community suffering through this very unfortunate event. These children desperately needed a space to be free, and to live their childhood, especially when they are experiencing such serious trauma at home, and even more so after the Grenfell fire. It is deplorable that Holland Park School have refused to help these vulnerable children cope with the unsettling circumstances, by rejecting the request to use their facilities.

Holland Park should immediately make their facilities available for the community to use during school holidays. £300 million has been invested by taxpayers to build the facilities of Holland Park School, which should not only be available for attending students but for the community.
