My girlfriend’s best friend was involved in a horrific car accident a few months ago that rendered her in a coma. The intersection this happened at is very well known for being incredibly dangerous and yet IDOT has done nothing to change it. Since then she has come in and out of consciousness and cannot move her body much, she can’t eat or speak yet. Her doctor made an appeal to blue cross blue shield of Illinois to get her the proper care and rehabilitation she needs to get better so she can be present for her daughter (1yr old) and the insurance company denied the appeal and said they will place her in a nursing home. She is 20 years old and that’s the best you can do? There needs to be some form of accountability for this and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois needs to be held responsible for this mistreatment of a patient. My hope in making this petition is to hopefully get through to the insurance company and force their hand to make the proper decision. I’m sure many other families have been affected by the same issues from their insurance company. Signing this gets us all one step closer to justice and reforming the broken healthcare system here in the US.
