Hold Government Accountable to Vote on National Emergencies Act!
Why this petition matters
We the People, of the United States of America, in order to hold our elected representatives accountable to the laws of this land, do demand an accounting of USC Title 50 Section 1622, regarding the Covid 19 National Emergencies Act.
Whereas Title 50 was invoked on 03/13/2020 by order of Proc. No. 9994. Declaring a National Emergency Concerning the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID -19) Outbreak, we the law-abiding citizens of the United States ask for proof of the actions submitted to fulfill USC Title 50 Section 1622 subsection (b) under heading Termination review of national emergencies by Congress.
We the People, who desire to continue to be law-abiding citizens of the United States of America, do demand that our duly elected officials protect the integrity of our great nation and protect the integrity of the titles they respectively hold, by following the laws they have sworn to uphold. A government who holds her people accountable and yet fails to hold herself accountable is not a nation whose foundation is built upon liberty and justice, it is not a Republic that is likely to stand.
Whereas subsection (b) of the above referenced code states:
- "Not later than six months after a national emergency is declared, and not later than the end of each six-month period thereafter that such emergency continues, each House of Congress shall meet to consider a vote on a joint resolution to determine whether that emergency shall be terminated."
We, the law-abiding citizens of the United States, understanding that the specific dates of subsection (b) as it pertains to the invocation of Title 50 would place these required meetings within the time frames of 09/13/2020, 03/13/2021, 09/13/2021 and 03/13/2022 respectively, do demand proof of said meetings and the actions resulting of said meetings.
Whereas the House of Representatives, on 05/20/2021, introduced to its chamber House Joint Resolution 46 and on 06/16/2021, introduced H.J. Res 52, both pertaining to the ending of the National Emergencies Act,
Whereas the Senate on 02/14/2022, introduced to its chamber Senate Joint Resolution 38 to end the National Emergencies Act, and on 03/03/2022, with 48 yeas and 47 nays passed S.J. Res 38,
Whereas subsection (c) of the above referenced code states:
- "(2) Any joint resolution so reported shall become the pending business of the House in question (in the case of the Senate the time for debate shall be equally divided between the proponents and the opponents) and shall be voted on within three calendar days after the day on which such resolution is reported, unless such House shall otherwise determine by yeas and nays."
- "(3) Such a joint resolution passed by one House shall be referred the appropriate committee of the other House and shall be reported out by such committee together with its recommendations within fifteen calendar days after the day on which such resolution is referred to such committee and shall thereupon become the pending business of such House and shall be voted upon within three calendar days after the day on which such resolution is reported, unless such House shall otherwise determine by yeas and nays."
We, the law-abiding citizens of the United States, do hereby demand an accounting of the actions taken or failed to be taken, as it pertains to subsection (c), in reference to any and all legislation submitted in the Congress of the United States of America.
We The People, of the United States are demanding accountability for the actions and inactions of our elected officials in Congress and for the immediate rectification of laws not adhered to.
