CARA'S LAW

Cara Marie Thomas was recently the victim of a homicide in Austin Texas,

Cara Marie was a young 21 yr. old mother of a 3-yr. old little boy with so much life ahead of her and so much love in her heart.

Cara Marie was intentionally injected with atoxic mix of drugs known as a HOT SHOT in the drug world and is meant to kill. Unfortunately administering drugs / injecting another person that OD’s and dies does not reach the level of murder or any other crime they can be charged with.

LET’S CHANGE THAT.

Let’s change the law and give law enforcement the tools and laws to help fight this drug epidemic running though our streets and killing our children. Let’s start holding these people accountable and pay for the lives they destroy and people they kill.

1. Make it a felony to inject another person with any type of drugs, with or without their consent.

First Degree Felony
A conviction for a first degree felony can result in life imprisonment or five to 99 years’ imprisonment, as well as a fine of up to $10,000.

2. Hold drug dealers accountable for the drugs they sell that result in the death of another person.

First Degree Felony
A conviction for a first degree felony can result in life imprisonment or five to 99 years’ imprisonment, as well as a fine of up to $10,000.

3. If you are at the site of a drug overdose and you clean up the area removing evidence prior to Law enforcements arrival you are guilty of tampering with evidence and conspiracy.

Second Degree Felony
Under Texas law, second degree felonies are punishable by two to 20 years in prison, and a fine of up to $10,000.

4. If you are at the site of an overdose and you fail to call for emergency aid and someone dies, you are guilty of reckless endangerment resulting in death.

Third Degree Felony
A third degree felony is punishable by two to ten years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000.

5. If you are at a site of an overdose and you call for emergency aid, you will not be charged for any crime as long as you did not commit any of the above violations.

6. Allow families to petition the court to get treatment for a loved one who has refused to get help on their own. Addicts often refuse help, spiraling out of control until it is too late. Often times 2 4 or 6 weeks is not a long enough treatment program and people offten relapse.

Let’s send a message to your state government that we want change. We want our voice to be heard and to give law enforcement the tools to do their jobs and help stop these ruthless, heartless, killers. Think of it this way... it might be one of your friends, brothers or sisters that make the next head line.

SIGN THE PETITION MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD, STAND UP AND MAKE A DIFFERANCE, YOU MIGHT JUST SAVE SOMEONES LIFE.
