Why this petition matters

Activision is harming their consumers. They don’t care about the companies that they publish games for. They have forced people who are passionate about creating fun and engaging games that tell amazing stories. Instead they spread them thin, forcing them to work on game after game causing them to be overworked and their games to be unfinished. This is horrible. They know people will but it no matter what but even if we didn’t buy the game, they still would work them hard and make more games. And this is truly evident with their treatment of Treyarch and it’s employees. Treyarch started making their own Call of Duty  games in 2006 with the release of Call of Duty 3. They then began to alternate with the creator of the franchise Infinity Ward. One company would release a game, then the next year the other would. This continued until 2014 when Sledgehammer games released Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Now these three companies had 3 years to make games which was heavily needed as ideas got bigger and consoles got more powerful as this shift occurred roughly right around the release of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However during the ‘life cycle’ of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, this is the period when Treyarch is working on DLC for their game as they also work through the early stages of their next game, something happens. Rumor has it that Sledgehammer Games was struggling to make a game that was up to standards. So Activision had Treyarch make Call of Duty: Cold War a game that clearly needed more time to work on with clear bugs being rampant. However, with most bugs being patched people liked Cold War namely it’s iteration in Treyarch’s iconic side mode: Zombies. This caused Activision to have Treyarch make a zombies mode for Sledgehammer Games’ struggling game: Call of Duty: Vanguard. So now they’re being forced to work on this and their next game that will most likely release in 2023. This has caused the zombies mode for Call of Duty: Vanguard to be incredibly rushed and the complete opposite of what most fans want. This is just the surface of what’s wrong with Activision. This doesn’t begin to highlight their massive greed. But if you sign this we can let the world see this. If a pandemic doesn’t make them take a break to help their games. If poor sales and/or poor reception doesn’t make them take a step back and allow Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and/or Sledgehammer Games to take a break, then maybe the entire world against them will. And if this works we could save Call of Duty and he companies that work on it. And the first step is signing this petition.
