Petition to retire Hayley Wickenheiser's number 22
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
Hayley Wickenheiser is a five-time Olympic medalist, and is widely regarded as one of the best female hockey players of all time. She was a member of Canada'a women's national Ice Hockey team for 23 years bringing home 4 gold and 1 silver medal for Canada. An amazing athlete, she also represented Team Canada in women’s softball team at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
Wickenheiser’s passion for sport is matched by her desire to give back to the community in her work with organizations such as SickKids, JumpStart, KidSport, Project North, Right to Play , Ovarian Cancer Canada and many others. In 2007, she travelled to Rwanda with a team of Canadian Olympic athletes for Right to Play, an athlete-driven, global organization using the transformative power of play to educate and empower children and youth. In 2011, she returned to Africa on a similar goodwill mission to Ghana.
Hayley retired on January 13th, 2017 and we would like to see her number 22 retired from Team Canada.
