This event is an international institution that draws competitors, supporters and tourists from all over the world to compete and spectate at. It would have immense and detrimental effects on both the effectiveness of the event and the attraction to tourism.
HCC should assist all sporting groups to provide a suitable area for the benefit of the whole community. It is so simple to use removable traffic barriers to enable competitors and spectators, some of whom can only attend this event due to its ideal central location being another exciting event for Hobart people and visiting tourists
The Queens Domain is public open space and should be available to everyone for use by the broadest range of people and pursuits. It matters not how many participants are involved, be it Croquet, Cricket or Car racing. Each to their own, as long as we continue to respect other users as we have always done in the past and coordinate our activities. I'd really love to know the rationale behind this motion (and decision) and look forward to an open discussion about future usage.
The domain is a perfect place to hold an event. It doesn't affect residents access to their properties and is a fabulous opportunity for motor sports fans. As an annual event it is very much an opportunity for the motor sport community to come together.

It would have immense and detrimental effects on both the effectiveness of the event and the attraction to tourism.
