Relocation of Brighton's HMV
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
Brighton is one of the best places for music; we keep producing these successful and wonderful bands and artists. The music scene in Brighton is probably one of the best (even globally!).
We've experienced this before with HMV shutting down and having to relocate or just remain closed because of money. Rents are always rising and making it difficult for such an amazing shop.
But, annoyingly, this is happening again. Brighton has completely lost the big music store like HMV. Both shops are closed and there's no plans for relocation. Allegedly, Victoria Secret bought them out by bribing them with the profit that HMV would make in more than 5 years of business in Brighton. But, we now have 1 more lingerie store to add to the 50+ others. That's how many it feels like. The only music stores are small businesses that are out of the way and not exactly the talk of the town. But there's not a single store devoted to just music, band merchandising and films.
HMV was my favourite store and one of the only reasons I ever made a trip into the town to spend money. I'm deeply saddened by the closing of the store. Brighton definitely isn't the same without it.
Therefore, I really want to get enough support so that HMV can see how much Brighton want a new store to be relocated. Wherever it is opened, I will make the journey to it specifically. I'm sure many of you music lovers and HMV lovers would agree that it's a heartbreaking moment to say good-bye. So let's say a "farewell, for now" and come together to bring HMV back.
