For nearly a year, prisoners have been unable to have Visits with family members/friends due to COVID-19. There was an app made, which allows you to have a 30 minute video call once a month. However, the visit is not always guaranteed and you can only have one call. Any slight movement, Sun light or unexpected voices which may occur in the background results in your call being cut off , you then have to re-verify yourself several times during this call by taking a photo. Which means both parties have lost yet more time with their loved ones. 

I am writing this petition, as someone who understands this situation. No one knows how much time they have left in the world right now which is why it’s even more important that prisoners are allowed contact with the outside world. I’m sure there are extra health and safety measures that could be carried out by all prisons and staff. Even if that means less people per visit, and hygenic stations around the visit hall. 

It is bad enough being in a pandemic, but being in a pandemic and locked up in your cell for most of the day every single day. The least you can do, is give prisoners some hope, and let them see family friends. There are children missing their parents and this is time, that no one will ever get back. My daughter hasn’t seen her father in almost a year, and that is hard for us all. 

please do something to allow prisoners to spend atleast a little bit of time face to face and allowed contact.
