We are appalled at the unprovoked attack on Ukraine and the resulting horrendous refugee crisis. We applaud Poland, Moldova, Romania and other countries in Europe for their generous, extraordinary and rapid measures to support and help these refugees.   The contrast with the slow and mean response in the UK could not be greater.  We call on the UK government immediately to admit 100,000 refugees as an interim measure and to work more closely with our partners in Europe to support these desperate people.
