Jake Morris started this petition to HM Government

David Morris, my Grandad, has been a hero to anyone and everyone for the entirety of his life starting early in his career as a Policeman all the way through to retirement and beyond. His consistency in helping his community and others goes above and beyond what is expected of him and now he is seriously ill we would all like to honour him with what he deserves. He has tirelessly been the handyman, the emotional support, the backbone of our family and a huge father figure to me. But this is just within our family, on the outside he would go with the local schools to help out on their residential or regular trips; he helped run the Youth Club and also the Scout hut it was held in for many years; he has been the lead and organiser of the Village fete for the last 18 years, only stopping when he physically could not do it anymore, and even then we had to stop him so he did not hurt himself. Only this year he had to forfeit his position as Chairman for the Village Hall Committee, which he has held proudly and strongly for as long as I can remember. The countless hours and funds from his own pocket that he has put into the village are unimaginable; and I have seen firsthand the lengths he is willing to go to for the people in the village and his family, any of whom would tell you the same. This man deserves so much, and I'd like your help to let him have an Honour from the government to show what he means to all of us. Not just for his exemplary Police Service his entire adult life, or for how he raised his four daughters, or for what he has done for his community, but for his tireless effort to put everyone else above himself, which is a quality that should be better recognised and can be hard to find.

Thank you.
