As you know, our assignments are given to us on Monday and are expected to be completed by Friday night. In theory, this is a good idea. The students have five days to complete a few assignments from their classes, they're sent to the teachers, and they insert our grades into the gradebook. However, us students are getting an absurd amount of work. It seems as if each class is giving their students a week's worth of work all due in five days. Teachers are giving us more work now than they were during actual school. Yes, we are at home due to the global pandemic, but we shouldn't feel like school is a bigger threat to us than the virus. 

    If students were to receive their assignments each day, they wouldn't need to make major adjustments to this new way of doing school work. Instead, they will be used to the working pattern and will not be as stressed during this pandemic. 

    If you are a fellow student reading this, and you feel the same way I do, please sign the petition and share to your friends and family and get them to sign. If you are an HISD staff member, please don't take this lightly and take some time to consider this. This is new to all of us, but it doesn't have to be uncomfortable. We have voices, so let us be heard. Thank you.
