Why this petition matters

Started by Camille Keith

We have collectively wiped our memory of the Spanish flu. Of the lies that preceded it and the deaths and horror it created. More people died then in both the first world war and second...We do not talk about it we do not teach it and it must be remembered! Those people that lost their lives in one day must be remembered. Most people cannot conceive of COVID-19 because they do not understand what happened during the Spanish flu...It’s time we remembered and honored them. Labors soldiers doctors and nurses children they must all be remembered. The warnings that were ignored-We must learn and grow from them.We deserve to have a day set aside to remember the loss. It is also the show and grow from what we learned and to never forget what can happen!
