Rename Akbar Bhawan (MEA Office) to Swaraj Bhawan to honor late MEA Minister Sushma Swaraj
The Ministry of External Affairs deals with India's foreign relations with all countries. As India is coming into the Indian Century, where we are soon going to be the Vishwa-Guru, it makes sense to honour India's iron lady, the lady who put India on the global map, transformed government service using social media & clear policies, and ensured no country could take our Nation for granted ever again, with her confident posturing and mindset.
We, the citizens of India, request Prime Minister Modi, who knows India's iron lady better than we ever will, to honour her memory by renaming Indian Ministry of External Affairs building, from Akbar Bhawan to Swaraj Bhawan.
The name Akbar reminds the common citizen of foreign rule, which is not an apt name for a building which houses the people who determine our relations with foreign powers.
The name Swaraj means self rule, independence, and sovereignty.
This makes it clear, that a name that indicates that India is a sovereign Nation, should hit two birds with one stone:
1. Replace a name that signifies foreign invasion and monarchic rule with one which signifies self rule and sovereignity.
2. Honour the Iron Lady of India, by naming the building where all future India Foreign Policy makers will sit and handle the relationships of the Vishwa Guru with other countries, after the lady who finally put Indian Soft Power on the global map.
