The Governor General of Australia Must Dismiss Parliament and Call New Elections

To His Excellency the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia

Your Excellency,

The present Parliament, led by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, has proven increasingly unstable in recent months. This has culminated in at least one leadership challenge to the incumbent Prime Minister, with a second soon to occur. The parliament is not focused on governing the nation, and fresh elections are needed to allow the citizens to vote to form another government.

This petition is not born of partisan rancour, but rather of a desire for strong and stable government.

It is for this reason that we, the undersigned, respectfully petition you to use your powers as granted under Chapter One, Part One, subsection 5 of The Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act, 1901 and 'dissolve the House of Representatives', issuing writs for new elections forthwith.

Respectfully yours
