Peter Ogo started this petition to Executive Governor, Cross River State His Excellency Senator Professor Benedict Ayade

Sir, over the years, the welfare of Cross River State Law Students have been neglected by successive governments which in turn usually affects their performances at the Nigerian Law School. The Nigerian Law School requires huge financial and academic commitments. Here, one's level of academic success is to a large extent determined by his financial level or capacity because he needs to buy books and statutes, pay for his laundry weekly, feed well, photocopy materials for lectures daily, do data subsription regularly etc. so as to be able to concentrate on his studies. All these activities cost a fortune at the Law School and a student who is not sufficiently supplied with finances to meet these basic needs how ever intelligent and serious would definitely have difficulty in concentrating on his studies, and of course may never be able to record the same level of success as his colleagues from other states who have their basic needs catered for. It should be pointed out here that, while Law Students from other States in the NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL have continued to enjoy financial support from their respective Governments, Cross River State Law Students over the years, have always been made to bear the heavy financial burden of law school alone which in turn affects their overall performances. We therefore pray that the Governor of Cross River State, H.E Senator Benedict Ayade and other well meaning members of the political class in Cross River State will come to the aid of Cross River State Law Students in the Nigerian Law School as this will not only affect their personal academic lives positively but would also have great impact for the State as it will encourage education and help delist the State from the list of Academically Less Developed States. Please we need you to sign this petition to ensure that it gets to the Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Benedict Ayade. Thank you so much for your help.
