Set up a fund for the victims of the terrorist attacks

Over 1000  people across Nigeria have been killed, and many more physically and psychologically maimed following a string of terrorist attacks dating back to 2009. Very unfortunately this number is rising, and with effects that many of us cannot fathom, as the attacks leave in their wake a string of disillusioned and potentially disenfranchised victims.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in response to the attacks, called them an ‘unwarranted affront on our collective safety and freedom’. As concerned citizens, we now implore the President to ensure that the survivors of those killed, and those injured are adequately cared for, and supported, in order that they don’t suffer further affronts to their dignity and humanity.

We ask you to join us in doing so, by signing our petition.

We understand that the President is planning on spending more money on security, and we ask the President to set up an independently governed fund, which can be easily accessed by those injured during the blasts, and the families of those who died in the attacks. We also ask that in addition to financial support, the President also strongly considers ensuring the provision of rehabilitation services, both physical and psychological.

President Goodluck Jonathan says his ‘life has always been about service’, and has been ‘focused on serving his Creator, family and country to the best of his ability’. He also says that with our help he aims to be better at doing that.

Please add your voice in ensuring that alongside ‘addressing this new threat of terrorism’, he also does his best to alleviate what will inevitably be long term pain and suffering for thousands of innocent Nigerians.

Thanks for your support,

Concerned Nigerian Citizens
