Hire Trans Leadership at the Gender Identity Center

We, the undersigned, request that the Gender Identity Center:

1. Select trans-identified leadership for the position of Executive Director and the position(s) of Clinical Director/Supervisor(s) when created.

2. Make special effort to find candidates with multiple marginalized identities, including but not limited to: people of color, feminine-presenting and/or non-binary people, disabled people, indigenous people, people of size, and people from low-income backgrounds.

3. Include the local trans, transgender, non-binary, gender variant community in these decision-making processes through the use of group interviews, focus groups, community selection committees, etc.

The undersigned are local Colorado trans, non-binary, and cisgender mental health professionals and community members. We are firm in our belief that the GIC community will be best served when leadership represents those being served. We are confident that there are many qualified trans-identified professionals who would be able and willing to fill these roles.
