Give Moe Yarbrough the opportunity to play football his last year and pursue his NFL Dream
Moe Yarbrough is, and has been, a great example and a leader to his peers for the past 4 years he’s been apart of Hirams community. Not only has Moe been a huge part of the Hiram football team, he is involved in a variety of other activities around campus. These activities include being apart of SAAC, being a tour guide, and a media coordinator. This is just a short list of ways Moe has positivity influenced Hirams Campus.
Outside of his Hiram College campus involvement, Moe continued to show just how Hiram students are by participating and volunteering in events such as the Hiram church’s Easter event, and most recently Moe coached younger football players at the Browns stadium in Cleveland. He takes his strong leadership skills and passion for teaching, influencing, and football, and carries them to anywhere he is present. Not only does this reflect on the type of person he is, but it reflects on the type of people Hiram has on their campus.
It is clear that Moe has achieved a lot in the short 4 years he’s been here. When COVID came around, it was a difficult situation for many people, and in this case, student athletes here at Hiram to handle. Being a senior when COVID hit took away many of the students senior seasons. Being granted the opportunity to go for a 5th year had been the light many of these senior athletes needed. Moe devoted his time to be the best possible player he could for his 5th year. With no doubt, any player on the team, or even any of the coaching staff, can attest to the fact that he is one of the most hardworking athletes. Not only in this past off season, but in his eternity as a Hiram College football player.
The news about Moe not being able to participate in this upcoming season has been heartbreaking for many. Reflecting back on who Moe Yarbrough is and everything he has done for Hiram and his teammates has made this news very difficult. Moe is not just a football player here. He is a brother to his teammates and friends, and deserves a chance to be there for them and show his talents.
