Why this petition matters

Started by Russ Jaynes

Hello Hillsdale residents, I'd like to start a petition to change the way our CC&R's read in respect to camper trailer storage. As per our current CC&R's, Article IX, Section F currently reads, "Storage of Vehicles and Equipment. Parking of boats, trailers, motorcycles, trucks, truck campers, motor homes, recreational vehicles, and like equipment, or farm or garden equipment, or junk cars or other unsightly vehicles, shall not be allowed on any lot nor on public or private ways adjacent thereto, except in an enclosed structure or completely screened from all view from outside the lot. All other parking of equipment shall be prohibited, except as approved in writing by the board of directors of the association."

Most of us moved out to Hillsdale to get away from small lots and have space to store our equipment, campers and RV's. It is ridiculous that the CC&R's state that all of the equipment listed must be "in an enclosed structure or completely screened from all view from outside the lot". I think we need to change it to read "in an enclosed structure or behind a fence of at least 6 feet in height as is viewed from the front view of the lot."

Walking through the neighborhood, nearly half of all the homes in Hillsdale violate this CC&R and we are tired of getting letters telling us to hide our camper. We all understand that the CC&R's help keep our neighborhood looking pristine, however, parking a well maintained camp trailer on a one or two acre lot is hardly detrimental to the community landscape.

Would you please join me in signing this petition so we can get the CC&R's changed to more closely reflect what we would all prefer? Thanks for your assistance and support!
