Erin Donovan started this petition to Hillsborough County Public School District

On July 1st, 2020, parents were sent a request to declare their intentions for their child in the upcoming school year. However, as parents we feel that the information provided to us has been inadequate and lacks the details we need in order to make well informed decisions. We respectfully request that the district becomes more transparent with the options available and provide specific details, protocols, and prevention and mitigation strategies that are planned. While the list below is not all inclusive, these items are good starting points to provide more information. We would also like consideration to have the deadline on 7/10 moved to 8/1/20, as your answers will depend on our decisions, and we will have a better understanding of the COVID-19 situation within our community at that time. We do not get a second chance on the health and safety of our children, and we feel that as a school board, your response is lacking in both detail and transparency.
Items we would like more information on:

Safety protocols, outbreak shutdown procedures, sports/activites, elearning curriculums and schedules (will there be sufficient daily instruction in elearning or is this independent learning?), modifications of current class schedules,  supplies for schools (soap) and process of cleaning and checking supplies throughout the days, masks, class/parent notifications, contact with other kids, lunch/recess/PE/music modifications, drop off and pick up procedures, field trip and extra curricular modifications. We need more information on what the school year would look like in all the options offered including what the day would look like and the amount of instruction and interaction with other students in order to make a decision. Please provides us with answers!
