We have to save Pepe the Frog!!

There comes a time in every persons life when they must decide whether to submit to fate or to stand up and fight for what they believe in. We as a community of like minded individuals must stand up and fight against the oppression we are currently facing. Right at this very moment the media is running rampant with various untruths about are beloved Pepe the Frog. No one with a loud enough voice is fighting against the slander that Pepe has been subject to. But while we may not be able to make a change on our own together we can save Pepe from becoming just another hate symbol. Most of this confusion about Pepe the Frog's meaning stems from a single incident on September 12, 2016 an article by Elizabeth Chan was published on Hillary Clinton's official website about an image of Donald Trump that prominently featured Pepe the Frog to the right of Trump. This article claimed that Pepe the Frog was in the image as a way for Donald Trump to gain support from the Alt Right. The article later goes on to call Pepe a white supremacist figure. This caused an outbreak of news articles claiming that Pepe the Frog was an image that represented racism, bigotry, and white supremacy. If we continue to stand back and allow misinformation about Pepe the Frog to be spread to the masses there could very well be a day when drawing a picture of Pepe the Frog on your school work is just as bad as drawing a swastika. Just because some people use Pepe the Frog in a racist way does not mean that Pepe is conclusively a figure of racism and hate. A small minority of racist people should not decide the future of Pepe the Frog. It will take much work to undue the damage that has been done by this smear campaign that the media has pushed on to the masses. But a great first step would be to have Hillary Clinton Herself Publicly Retract the defaming statements that her website published about Pepe the Frog. With your support we can save Pepe and stop the countless amounts of misinformation that is being spread about him. For more information about the origins of Pepe the Frog check out this interview with the Frog's original creator. If you would like to help out in the freeing of Pepe the Frog please consider signing this petition and retweeting it with the hashtags #freepepe and #notallpepes
