This petition is addressed to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to allocate monetary funds to Los Angeles county residents during COVID- 19 pandemic. Los Angeles County is divided among 5 supervisory districts, each district is composed of approximately 2 million people represented by a Supervisor.

L.A. County has failed to properly represent its residents during the "Stay At Home" order by not giving its residents assistance and support to help individuals stay healthy and help in ongoing expenses. The L.A. county system has been around for over 170 years, servicing predominantly the African American and Hispanic communities. It is evident that Los Angeles County was not ready in handling health protocols nor ready in helping its residents during a pandemic. The city of Los Angeles took the initiative to provide its residents with Angeleno cards, an economic relief program fund-raised in efforts to help its current residents who may be struggling economically during the pandemic. The City of L.A. Angelino Card program has worked well for city residents however, county residents have been alienated from the assistance.

LA county has provided limited assistance and resources to its residents during this pandemic and that is unacceptable. We must protect all residents of Los Angeles as a whole and not be held back due to the bureaucracy from the different institutional systems. LA county residents are fighting against poverty and many more economic stressors including feeding their children, paying rent or mortgages and medication for ill loved ones.

This petition is to address the economic need within LA county communities. We demand LA County Board of Supervisors implement a temporary economic relief COVID-19 fund for all households and individuals living in LA County regardless of race, gender, abilities and immigration status.

It is estimated 5 million new registered voters in L.A. County will be going to the polls in November of  2020 to cast their vote. We will all be paying close attention to those elected officials running for re-election or a different political position.
