unknown ! started this petition to Highschool students and Administration

Our school is well known for having an “open” dress code, yet they want to defy their standards. Some ridiculous examples of this include banning Crocs for being backless when they have a strap, pajama pants because they are too loose, and leggings because they are too tight. If a bottom completely covers an area, there should be no rule of how short or long shorts or skirts should be. Cheerleaders are allowed to walk around wearing skirts that don’t even reach fingertip length, and Cudettes can walk around with their midriff showing with no issues at all.
The administration is showing cognitive dissonance with their dress code and only enforcing it with specific groups of people. The Assistant Principals are quick to remove detentions from sports players so they are allowed to play and attend their sports games/practices, but handing out detentions left and right to innocent people who wore something that is “too short” or “not the right color”. Girls with bigger thighs are shamed for wearing leggings (that cover everything), but thinner girls freely walk around in leggings, shorts, and skirts. It is incredibly appalling how girls are stopped by security guards and administration for their clothes because they are “distracting” to the male gender, but don’t realize that they are interrupting the girls’ education over an article of clothing. They are less worried about the students’ academic endeavors and success and are focusing on all the wrong issues. Change needs to start now!
