PLEASE Don't Remove the Street Toppers

PLEASE Don't Remove the Street Toppers

DeKalb County has received a complaint from Highland Park Civic Current President, Jerrie Bason, who lives on the corner of Bixler Circle and Tilson Road which is identified as Greystone Park. McNair DSNI tried to accommodate her by not removing the Highland Park street toppers that she had previously installed with a grant near her home. Now, she wants ALL the new and old street toppers on Tilson Road removed and replaced with the old white Highland Park Street topper signs. Ms. Bason does not want Greystone Park to be acknowledged on Tilson Road as listed by Greystone Park Association.
The new street toppers have Highland Park (Blue) and Greystone Park (Yellow) signs. The project was funded by a grant from McNair DeKalb Sustainable Neighborhood Initiative aka McNair DSNI. The purpose of the street topper is to enhance the community by identifying the neighborhood. Through the years, Highland Park Civic Association opened their neighborhood associations to the surrounding communities. Highland Park is identified as the south side of Tilson Road, and Greystone Park is on the north of Tilson Road.
McNair DSNI created this petition to keep the street toppers as installed. There have been several thousands of dollars spent and many years organizing this project. Most importantly, the community has bigger issues during this pandemic that needs to be addressed. In other words, Ms. Bason, Highland Park Civic President, has chosen not to have a general meeting since the pandemic to address the many community concerns that the community is facing, but she chose to address the enhancement of the neighborhood.
PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION to KEEP the street toppers signs as Greystone Park on the north side of Tilson Road and Highland Park on the south side of Tilson Road.
