On the 24th February Park Primary school in Invergordon was burnt to the ground by a catastrophic fire. Children in the aftermath were housed in Invergordon Academy as a supposedly temporary solution prior to lockdown.

Following a complete lack of action by the Highland Council an initial meeting with parents and the Highland Council was finally put in place where it  become evident that children will remain in the Academy indefinitely which is not fit for these small children. 

Highland Council want to put out a consultation to the town for 3 options:

1. Rebuild Park Primary on the original site
2. Rebuild on a new site
3. Build a 3-18 campus for the whole town

This consultation will take months then further months in planning followed by years in build if a 3-18 campus was to go ahead (6 years based on previous builds). Whilst we are not suggesting the consultation of a 3-18 campus is removed from the town, we believe this is a separate issue and that the children of Park Primary should not suffer in the meantime with years in an unfit building which will compromise their eduction.

We demand there is a rebuild of Park School now in the original site with the insurance money the Highland Council will receive. Please support our young children to get them back to the environment they know as their school and fight against this undemocratic behaviour.
