Give Study Leave to Highland School Pupils

With the Highland Council considering not giving out study leave this year, pupils could miss out on achieving top grades.

It is essential that students achieve their highest possible grades to have a competitive edge against other students. With competition for university places and jobs being so high, Highland schools will have a major disadvantage against other candidates who will have study leave.

From personal experience, I can undoubtedly say that study leave played a key role in achieving my exam results. It allowed me study in a comfortable environment and work on what needed improving whilst still having the option of still going into school to ask teachers for help when necessary. However with pupils being relinquished of study leave will mean pupils have to attend their usual timetable at school where distractions are ubiquitous.

By signing and supporting this petition, you are helping Highland pupils in our attempt to revoke the Highland Council's decision to take away study leave. And with your support, I trust we will be successful.
