Thomas Butler started this petition to HIGHLAND COUNCIL

Hi folks,

We are starting this petition in the hope that with enough signatures, we can get the Highland Council to change their mind and install disabled access on the new Uig Pier for EVERYONE to enjoy.

The Highland Council is preparing to embark on a £60 million regeneration project to Uig Pier on the Isle of Skye. Having met with the community on several occasion over the past two years, very few, if any of our requests have been entertained due to a 'lack of funds.' This includes a request by the community to include a floating pontoon and ramp replacing the steps that are currently planned. This would allow EVERYONE access to the water and not just those who can climb a set of steps.

Building a commercial pier without disabled access in the 21st century is a disgraceful way to behave and the Highland Council should be ashamed of themselves. Please sign our petition and help us fight this ridiculous decision.
