Currently, school starts at 7:15AM and ends at 2PM
 
Why the Current Situation is Unacceptable:

 · Students are not focused enough to perform efficiently.
·  Students don’t come on time, and frequent tardiness leads to increased failures of first period classes.
·  According to the U.S Department of Health & Human Services, Sleep deprivation increases the risk for diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure. Researchers believe that a lack of sleep alters hormone levels and puts additional stress on the body.
 
What many people may not know: 

Is that It’s been scientifically proven by researches who surveyed kids between the ages 7 and 11 that the more sleep kids get the better they’ll perform academic wise.

Other Schools

Pittsburgh: Milliones High School in PA has changed their school start time to 7:42AM to 8:42AM due to daily absences & the fact that they believe teens need sleep as well. Overall this has had quite a successful impact the schools attendance rate has improved from 81% to 84% in just a year after the changed.

Jackson Hole High School: In WY has changed their school start time from 8:35AM to 8:55AM and it has made a major impact. In all of the students 1st-period core classes the grade point average has  increases statically in one or more of their classes.
 

 Some people might oppose this change: 

Because It would create transportation issues for the school district by causing more transportation investments and since schools starts later it would also eliminate the ability for kids to do Homework.
 

What many people don’t understand:

Schools will still make sure that students have a reliable source of transportation to get to school regardless of what time school starts & this petition will actually give more time for students to complete their homework speaking that if it starts later this allows them to have more time to complete Homework.
 
This will allow students:

To get the right amount of sleep they need and productively perform better in school.
· The chance to arrive on time.
· Reduce health related issues such as sleep deprivation, depression, stress and Irritability.

In 1984 the brotherhood organization rebelled against the government because they didn’t like how things were Ex: (how they were controlling people minds and feelings) Winston tried to change this & this is exactly what I’m doing with this petition I don’t like the hours which school starts.

In 1984 There was a lot Crappy Conditions (such as the way they treated the poor) the way schools start right now, people arriving late, sleep deprivation & kids stressed would be an example of crappy conditions.

Government reform they wanted change in the brotherhood organization & that’s exactly what I want with school hours.
