Many schools in the area have announced that only students from their own school can attend their own dance. Despite the efforts to minimize Covid-19 cases, all that this new rule has done is created chaos and panic for hundreds of high school students who want to enjoy their first and last dance. We still see our dates on a regular basis, so what is the difference if we bring them to our dance? We will see each other regardless of what the schools put in place. These laws are only controlling us and hurting our students. We just ask for one normal school year and one normal dance. Students have already purchased very expensive dresses and suits that are NON REFUNDABLE. We have also made appointments that we cannot get our money back for. Making these changes on such short notice is hurting others more than it is helping. Please consider all of these factors before making such an unfair rule at such a last minute time. Thank you for your time. Update: 9/8/21- Sharon High has decided to accept dates from other schools as long as we wear masks for the entirety of the dance. Let’s continue to sign to help out other schools like Reynolds and Farrell, as their school board has not changed their mind yet.
