Ever since substitute was assigned to High School, has had a negative impact on far too many students. We come here each and every day working very hard to stay focused in class and listen to instruction, all in part to maintaining good grades. On the other hand, the job of a teacher is defined as a placeholder for the current teacher. They are supposed to take attendance, explain the assigned work, and in most cases, nothing more. I think it is fair to say goes above and beyond duties as a teacher. As high school students we are responsible enough to know where we are going and when to get there. Also, it is March, not the first week of school. We are not 5th graders and in fact we are preparing for college. Us students don’t need to get yelled at for being in the bathroom for longer than 5 minutes, or being reported to admin after being 30 seconds late to class. It is also extremely unnecessary to tell 17 and 18 year olds they can’t use their phones whatsoever, without any exceptions. To add on yet just another example, when I say writing 6 pages of sub notes to a study hall class is a bit excessive, I believe I speak for the REAL study hall teachers here at. I know for a fact I am not the first one to file a complaint regarding this specific teacher and acts, so I am hoping that with a certain number of signatures, and High School look to seek immediate change.
