For the second time this school year, a High School is being investigated for inappropriate conduct. Besides the alleged inappropriate behavior itself there is another similarity between the 2 incidents: no transparency from the school admin or the school district.

The community has been forced to piece together the latest incident using only social media and word of mouth. In short, the story is said to go like this:

A allegedly used a camera to film a former student showering and changing while naked. The former student then discovered the hidden camera pointed at him.The attempted to bribe the former student to return the camera, but the young man refused. At least one brief clip from the camera spread on social media. This inspired several young people to come forward on social media with allegations that also acted very inappropriately with them while they were students at the schools the taught at before. 

Days later, the administration released a bland statement that did not include specific details about why and was put on leave on 12/3/2021 in order to respect "the privacy" of those involved.

While we respect the police investigation and the privacy of individuals involved, especially the alleged victim, we are frustrated there has been no update on such a serious incident.

We are left with so many questions for the admin and the district: What were the findings of the District's investigation (it's been months!) ? Are the rumors true that is returning to full-time position at soon? What will and do to ensure that incidents like this do not keep happening? How can step up communication so that we do not have to rely on social media and kids for information?

Our community is mostly poor, mostly Brown and Black, with few resources, but we are also smart, hardworking people who deserve more. It is not normal or right for a school to have two investigated in less than six months for inappropriate behavior with their students and former students.
