Jayme Long started this petition to High Falls Georgia and

Kevin Fields, AVH Properties, LLC has applied with Monroe County Planning and Zoning and the Monroe County Board of Commissioners for a conditional use in commercial variance proposing a “Truck Stop” to be placed on the property located at 5065 High Falls Rd. Jackson, GA 30233 (Newly addressed) and known as Map 013 Parcel 033 AND which also meets Buck Creek Rd at property known as same Parcel ID 013 033 (Garden Properties, LLC).

We the citizens who live adjacent to or within close proximity to said property and/ or are of the Unincorporated Community of High Falls do by giving signature to this petition hereby oppose one and all the approval of this variance.

Although the property is zoned commercial along High Falls Rd, its point along Buck Creek Rd. is located within a densely populated residential neighborhood.

We the citizens of the Unincorporated High Falls Community do not believe this type of business/ industry is suited for this particular area for the following reasons:

• A truck stop will drive heavy weighted traffic onto roadways that are not currently supported for that type of traffic.
• The projected I-75 CVL project will be designed to ONLY allow for truck traffic with pointed High Falls Road destinations to use the exitat I-75 mile marker 198. Considering that there are not any major businesses located in this area and current truck traffic is mostly limited local truck operators, this location does not support the need for a “Truck Stop”.
• The area in which the request has been made is a mostly residential area, and this type of business/ industry will encroach of the quality of life for the citizens whom reside in the neighborhoods surrounding the business.
