Eligibility of allied biosciences candidates for HST

The government’s stance on rejecting qualified meritorious candidates for the post of HST without any valid rhyme or reason is highly questionable. Following points justifies the eligibility of allied subject candidates for the appointment in grade 1 position:

1. None of the allied subjects could be pointed out to be unrelated or unconcerned with the
relevant subjects.
2. There is no post advertised for the allied subjects, therefore, the candidates who are qualified in the allied subjects cannot be disqualified for appearing in the basic subject. All the candidates are required to appear in the same test in the relevant subjects. Therefore, it is a level playing field for all the candidates even if the candidate has obtained a degree in the allied subject.

3. As per Order No.F 1-118/2012/38-1, dated 28.11.2017 issued by the Higher Education
Department, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh the information concerning the allied subjects of the
concerned subjects is as follows:-
No. Subject Allied Subjects
1 Botany

1. Micro Biology
2. Bio-Technology
3. BioScience
4. Environmental Science
5. Forestry
6. Bio-Chemistry
7. Bio Informatics Science
8. Genetics

Thus, the candidates for the subjects mentioned in column 3 are eligible for column 2

4. In 2011, candidates from allied subjects were recruited as relevant subject teachers. A copy of the proof is enclosed.

5. The rules specified for recruitment weren’t lucid enough for the inapplicability of the recruitment of allied subject candidates as HST. There was no clear cut denial which might hinder the allied subject candidates for applying for the job.

6. In the past, many guest teachers who were postgraduates in allied sciences were recruited as teachers. Their data was duly verified before appointing them. Several of these guest teachers have now qualified TET and they would be made permanent. Will that not be equivalent to transgressing the law laid earlier?

7. Allied sciences in Chhattisgarh, Gujarat,  Kendriya Vidyalaya, and Rajasthan Board are classified under Biology.

Apart from this, the allied biological subjects are given equal importance in the courses of the high education department of Madhya Pradesh.
