I am an unmarried 28 year old man, trying hard to make a living. I have moved from my parent's residential city of bangalore to ahmedabad.
I faced lot of issues while trying to rent out a house along with a few other single people on sharing bases. The most unfair problem among these was when house owners are willing to rent out the houses but societies having a rule against it.
Should my marital status be a reason for me to not get an equal chance at an accommodation. The Indian constitution clearly says that i am free to earn livelihood and make a living in any part of the country, then is such a rule not an indirect way of violating one of my basic constitutional rights?
A society should ensure comfortable living to its residents via its rule. Is there any rule in place which eliminates noisy or troublesome families from renting out a space?
Shouldn't law be equal for all ? Can we put an end to this discrimination?
