Amirhosein Moradi and Ali Younesi, two brilliant students with exceptional talents from Sharif University got arrested recently by Iran’s regime and neither their families nor their friends know about their status. Ali Younesi won the gold medal of the International Olympiad on Astronomy & Astrophysics in 2018. Amir Hossein Moradi won the silver medal in 2017. Regime’s judiciary spokesman said they had linked up with MEK and they were subjected to torture and face execution. They are also are highly at risk of being exposed to COVID-19 in prison. The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced the names of 18 others, among the many who have been arrested, as follows:

Now the world knows how the regime arrested and killed thousands and thousands of protesters in November and tried to hide the truth about those who got killed or arrested. The regime maintains silence and engages in a cover-up about the fate of these prisoners. And when compelled to say anything, it claims they have committed suicide and killed themselves.
We do not want Ali, Amirhosein, and the other 18 prisoners to end up with the same unfair and horrific destiny as those in November.
We urge you as the High Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Human Rights Council to take urgent action to secure the release of the detainees and to send international missions to visit the regime’s prisons and meet with these prisoners.
Why talented students who are the ones that will bring a bright future for the country should be in prison and why they should be sentenced to unfair and false charges!
We need to act right now for their freedom for humanity.
