Give this poor girl some clothes. A call to change Quiet's costume.
I'm a man who loves playing video games, but there is something that has been bugging me for a long time. There is enormous disparity between how male and female characters are presented in games. And while both genders tend to be idealized to some degree, female characters tend to be sexualized in a far more blatant manner. Quiet is a character from Hideo Kojima's next installment of the Metal Gear Solid series, and as you can see by the picture, she is in desperate need of more suitable attire. This is the definition of what is wrong with the game industry and its juvenile attitude towards female characters. This character has been designed purely as titillation; with no genuine reason why the character is portrayed as such beyond the desire to have a sexy female character. Mr Kojima has pretty much said as much (see the link) http://www.gamespot.com/shows/feedbackula/?event=metal-gear-mammory-gate-20130906 Well I find that attitude unacceptable, and am fed up of being told that this is what I want and being lumped in with the minority of pervs that adore this exploitative garbage. I want to call Kojima out on his backwards attitude towards women, games and gamers. If you feel the same, please sign this petition and let’s try and do something about it. The industry needs to change, so let's see if we can start the ball rolling right here.
