The state of Kansas has approved basketball to be played but we have been denied the ability to practice by our BOE. We would like to be able to play team basketball and have our coach there so we can improve as players and a team. For the past two years coach’s goal has been to install a culture of hard work and playing as a team. Many of us, wanting to continue that culture have been going to the Sabetha rec center to play basketball and keep putting in work to be the best we can, as we are the only team in the league not currently practicing. This is also most likely the last opportunity for the seniors to ever play competitive basketball again. Since we are all around each other anyway, and aren’t allowed fans at games. Our goal is to get the board to rethink their decision to let us practice, either as a whole team or even smaller groups.
