Stop the harmful Medicaid cuts that will hurt Texas children with special needs.

"I really feel like Texas is failing Miranda and every other special needs child."
Joann Dockery (Miranda's Aunt)
Miranda lives with Rett Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder, and depends on the services that are threatened by drastic Medicaid rate reductions that were approved by the Texas legislature and will be implemented if nothing is done. These services are crucial to Miranda's ability to safely get the nutrition that she needs to live, they are the reason that she is still able to walk, and their loss would have a devastating effect on her quality of life.
This fight can only be won by rolling up our sleeves and fighting back against the decision makers who worked to create these cuts.
Please sign this petition and add your voice to those of the Texas children and families across the state who oppose these harmful decisions. I urge Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Texas HHSC Executive Commissioner Traylor, and the federal Center for Medicaid Services to reject the proposed cuts.
The proposed cuts involve Medicaid rate reductions for physical, occupational, and speech therapy provided by Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facilities/Outpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (CORF/ORF), Home Health Agencies (HHA), and Independent Therapists. Please contact my Capitol office at (512) 463-0616 if you have more questions regarding these cuts and how they might affect your child's care.
