Potters bar and surrounding areas have unfortunately become increasingly vulnerable with regards to robberies of late. Selfishly it has taken for my family to be involved in a terrifying attempted robbery for me to take action but I honestly believe that there would be far less crime if the street lights were on until daylight. Not only are the perpetrators going to be seen, their vehicles, colour, make, model and number plate are actually going to be visible if the lights are on, they won’t be able to hide in the shadows. The police are already thin on the ground, I am hoping if we can get our towns lit back up again when we are at our most vulnerable we are all less likely to be involved in a crime that leaves a huge amount of trauma behind. 
They do not care if you are young, old, have kids, we are all at risk and if there is something they want they will go for it, I believe that although they may still attempt entry of property with street light on, it is much more of  a deterrent and there is more likelihood of catching the criminals if there are some visuals to give to the police. Please help me and sign this petition, let’s get our lights switched back on.
